October 2008 - PM attends FABTECH/AWS Welding/METALFORM Show
PM attended the 2008 FABTECH/AWS Welding/METALFORM Show in Las Vegas. The show is the largest event in North America dedicated to showcasing a full spectrum of metal forming, fabricating, tube & pipe, and welding equipment and technology. More than 12,000 manufacturing and welding professionals attended the opening day of this first-ever show in Las Vegas, with more than 21,000 for the entire three-day event.

May 2008 - PM attends OTC.08
PM entire sales staff attended the 2008 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas. Along with over 70,000 offshore E&P professionals, the staff at PM learned the latest developments in the industry, forged valuable partnerships and enjoyed meeting customers from all over the world.

March 2008 - PM attends "Corrosion 2008" in New Orleans, Louisiana
Petter Madsen, April Madsen, Jeff Walker, Eric Richardson, Trever Saylor and April Black from PM' US office attended NACE's Corrosion 2008 event in New Orleans. They were joined there by Finn Bryne from PM Norway. Over 5,700 people attended the event this year; one of the highest attendances to date.

March 2007 - PM receives Achilles qualification
After vigorous reporting and documentation, PM was recently accepted into the Achilles Joint Qualification System. PM Achilles ID is 26348.

The Achilles Joint Qualification system is used by 20 oil companies and main contractors on the Norwegian and Danish continental shelves. The objective of the participating companies is to establish the majority of bidder lists by use of the qualification system. Since inception, the Achilles Group has developed into a leading global provider of supplier management information to a large number of major organizations. Their main services in the Nordic region consist of development and operation of joint sector specific supplier qualification systems on behalf of major Nordic corporations.

August 2006 - PM provides technical support for CalEnergy's Geothermal operations.
When US-based CalEnergy needed an economical alternative to Inconel 625 for its geothermal operations in Calipatria, California, PM International was asked to provided support for their selection of a mill able to meet their severe Super Duplex 2507 needs.

The brine CalEnergy uses to generate geothermal power, enough power to meet the energy needs of around 340,000 homes, is one of the worlds most hostile. With chloride levels between 106,000 - 167,000 ppm, pH levels between 4.5 and 5.7, and temperatures from 550° to 600° F, the demands on the materials used are extreme. The second part of the geothermal process transports this brine through over 33,000 feet of production pipes. A 340-ft trial production pipeline in 2507 was installed and after 13 months of production, no indication of stress corrosion, cracking or pitting was observed.

According to CalEnergy, the Super Duplex 2507 installation will be the largest ever in the USA. PM knew the mill selection was vital to the success of a Super Duplex installation of this size and specification. PM identified H. Butting GmbH & Co in Germany as the best solution for CalEnergy's stringent technical requirements. PM, along with Butting's sales office in Canada, supported CalEnergy throughout their trial. Consequently, CalEnergy placed their initial order for 30' Super Duplex 2507 pipe with Butting.

PM International will continue to provide support to both CalEnergy and Butting throughout the installation process which is expected to begin January 2008. <2008 update: photos>

PM was happy to sponsor the Twilight Twisters Red softball team who qualified for the 14 years and under division of the ISA Youth Fast Pitch World Series.

October 2005 - PM celebrates Champion Year together with the Stanley Cup Champions; Tampa Bay Lightning!
As one of the sponsors for "Glitz and Sticks" - an organization dedicated to providing enrichment opportunites for children, medical research and treatment to those in need - PM was very happy to support the fundraiser with the 2004 Stanley Cup Champions; ice-hockey team Tampa Bay Lightning. September 2005 - St. John's Open House a great success
Our reception in downtown St. John's Newfoundland September 23rd 2005 was a great success. Many attendees from local industries stopped by to help us celebrate the opening of our Canadian office and visit with attending manufacturers.

August 2005 - PM sponsors Charity Softball Tournament
We were very pleased to sponsor the annual Charity Softball tournament held in Marystown, Newfoundland, in memory of a former resident and Softball player, Clayton Dollimont. All proceeds goes to charity. Past donations - averaging $4,000 CAD - have gone to Canadian Cancer Society, Children?s Wish Foundation, Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, etc.

July 2005 - PM International Suppliers Canada
PM International Suppliers is devoted to its customers and due to the increasing demand in Canada, we have decided to prove our commitment to the area by opening a Division of PM International Suppliers in St John's Newfoundland. Our customer's needs are our first priority, therefore in order to accommodate this growing opportunity we have selected to service our Canadian customers directly from their local environment and will also be quoted and invoiced in Canadian Dollars.
